Bob Crow

Robert E. (Bob) Crow is a seasoned public policy and technology industry leader, renowned for his expertise in building organizational capacity at the intersection of technology and public policy.

Bob's distinguished career spans over diverse sectors including private, NGO, and academia, where he has excelled as an executive, consultant, and educator.

Previously retiring from the University of Waterloo in 2018, Bob held pivotal roles such as Managing Director & Executive in Residence at the Institute for Quantum Computing and Interim Vice President for University Relations.

As a former Vice President at Research In Motion / BlackBerry Limited, Bob spearheaded global initiatives in government and community relations, corporate responsibility, market intelligence, and university research.

Prior to his tenure at RIM, Bob served as Vice President Policy at the Information Technology Association of Canada and played significant roles at Ryerson University for over two decades, contributing as a professor of planning and senior administrator.

Bob's educational background is equally impressive, holding a bachelor's degree in engineering from Cornell University and master's degrees in planning and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Toronto. He also pursued advanced graduate studies in engineering and public policy at Carnegie Mellon University.

Apart from his illustrious career, Bob has been engaged in various organizations such as Robert E. Crow & Associates, Glove Systems Inc., Communitech & CDMN, BudTender, University of Waterloo, ICDL Canada, Research In Motion, ITAC, and Ryerson University, where he has held leadership and advisory positions.
