Bo Sandoval
Director of Strength & Conditioning at Ultimate Fighting Championship
Bo Sandoval is a highly experienced strength and conditioning professional who has worked with elite athletes across various sports. He served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at the UFC Performance Institute for over four years, leading the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs globally.12 In this role, he was responsible for managing training facilities in Las Vegas, Shanghai, and Mexico City, and played a crucial part in advancing the UFC's performance, welfare, and research initiatives for mixed martial arts.2
Prior to his tenure with the UFC, Sandoval had an impressive career in collegiate athletics. He spent eight seasons at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning, where he was recognized as the 2015 College Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).2
Sandoval's expertise extends beyond MMA and collegiate sports. He has designed and implemented training programs for NCAA champions, U.S. national champions, Paralympians, and Olympians in a wide range of sports, including track and field, weightlifting, various team sports, combat sports, and Olympic disciplines.2
As of December 2021, Sandoval transitioned to a new role as Assistant Athletics Director for Strength & Conditioning at Texas A&M University.23 In this position, he oversees the development of the strength and conditioning staff and provides specialized services for varsity student-athletes, excluding football.3
Sandoval holds multiple certifications, including Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with Distinction through the NSCA.2 He is a graduate of Southern Miss, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in exercise science and sports administration, respectively.2
