Renewable term appointment in the Journalism + Design program for undergraduates at the Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at The New School. I teach courses from the introductory News, Narrative & Design I course to Senior Capstone. Develop curriculum and open education resources (OER) with support from a Knight Foundation. Lead workshops in design methods and systems thinking for  educators teaching journalism and adjacent fields.

In Spring 2015, I taught the inaugural News, Narrative & Design III class to undergraduate juniors and seniors in Journalism + Design.

Launched a new platform for mobile magazines. Identified, recruited, and educated publishers about paid serial publishing for smartphones and tablets. Developed process for bringing titles onto the platform and shepherded editors through it. Provided editorial guidance for existing print publications, web sites, and original magazines looking to sell their work by subscription.

Built web site of weekly magazine into daily source of original, timely reporting and commentary. Led redesign and migration to new content-management system. Increased monthly unique visitors sixfold. Built a team of a dozen editors and producers. Worked closely with advertising, consumer marketing, and technology teams to define and realize strategy for web and other digital projects. Received two Webbys for Best Magazine. Nominated for National Magazine Award. 

Assigned and edited written posts, audio, video, slide shows, and multimedia portfolios. Hosted The New Yorker Out Loud podcast, a Digital Ellie finalist. Wrote about technology, culture, and news.
