Blake Boles

Blake Boles is an accomplished author, speaker, and entrepreneur who has dedicated his career to promoting self-directed learning and alternative education. He is the founder and director of Unschool Adventures, a unique organization that offers immersive educational experiences for young adults. Boles is a respected voice in the alternative education community and has delivered over 75 presentations at conferences, schools, and parent groups. His work has garnered national media attention, including features in The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, and NPR.

Boles developed an interest in self-directed learning while studying astrophysics at the University of California, Berkeley. He became deeply inspired by the philosophy of unschooling and went on to create custom-designed programs focused on education theory. Following graduation, Boles joined the Not Back to School Camp community and began writing and speaking widely on the subject of self-directed learning.

Throughout his career, Boles has created opportunities for young adults to pursue their passions and develop their skills on their own terms. His knowledge of alternative education and youth development has been honed through a diverse array of professional experiences, including work as a high-volume cook, delivery truck driver, summer camp director, and windsurfing instructor.
