Kuniko Norge is a subsidiary of Australian Kuniko Ltd, a spinout of Vulcan Energy Resources. We are located in Norway and are targeting three fundamental metals for electromobility: Cobalt, Nickel and Copper. Our extraction and production processes will aim to be carbon neutral and work in harmony with the environment by harnessing its natural energy. 

Europe now sells more electric vehicles than China (ref: Forbes, Aug 2020). It is the fastest growing electric vehicle manufacturing market in the world. It is exponentially increasing its domestic lithium-ion battery production capacity to meet this demand, making it the fastest growing battery metals market in the world. However, Europe has very limited domestic production of battery-quality battery metals.

Kuniko’s Projects will reduce this almost total reliance on external sources of battery metals by offering a local and sustainable source of nickel, cobalt and copper.

Vulcan Energy Resources is an Australia-based energy metals exploration company, listed on the Australian stock exchange. Vulcan is aiming to become the world’s first lithium producer with net zero greenhouse gas emissions. 

The Company is engaged in developing a combined geothermal and lithium extraction project in the Upper Rhine Valley of Germany. The Company’s zero-carbon lithium extraction process uses renewable geothermal energy to power the lithium extraction process and create a renewable energy by-product.

As part of a new agreement announced recently, marine engineering and equipment development company TECO 2030 ASA and engineering firm AVL List GmbH will develop a hydrogen fuel cell system specifically designed for heavy-duty marine applications.

Under three-year agreement, the two companies hope to market the first proton-exchange membrane fuel cell system specifically designed for heavy-duty marine use, offering emission free propulsion by using hydrogen as fuel.

As board member I stopped a proposed sale of Vålerenga operations 2004, and 12 years later managed to position the company in blocking a joint sale, leading to a special bid from interested buyer. Sales price represented a 500% value growth compared to 2004.
