Bhuvana Setty, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She has been with the hospital since January 28, 2011, and specializes in pediatric hematology and oncology, particularly focusing on the treatment of pediatric and young adult patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas, as well as those with vascular anomalies.
Clinical and Research Interests
Dr. Setty serves as the Director of the Clinical Sarcoma Team and is actively involved with the Hemangioma and Vascular Malformations Team, as well as the Lymphatic Imaging and Intervention Program. Her research is centered on developing translational and therapeutic clinical trials using novel agents for patients with aggressive bone and soft tissue sarcomas and complex vascular anomalies. She is also the Site Principal Investigator for notable clinical trial consortiums, including The Sunshine Project and CaNVAS, which focuses on vascular anomalies.123
Education and Professional Affiliations
Dr. Setty completed her medical degree at BLDEA's Shri B M Patil Medical College and her residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago. She has received several awards for her contributions to the field, including the Outstanding Clinical-Translational Investigator Award in 2020 and the Faculty Professionalism Award in 2019 from Nationwide Children's Hospital. She is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Children's Oncology Group.14
