Dallas Currie
Dallas Currie is a highly skilled and licensed New York City-based social worker who specializes in anti-oppressive and trauma-informed work, with a focus on serving the LGBTQIA+ community. Dallas holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the Columbia School of Social Work and Diploma of Youth Work from RMIT University. Additionally, Dallas has a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with distinction in Dance from Deakin University.
Currently, Dallas is a Primary Therapist at The Renfrew Center in New York, where they provide eating disorder treatment to cis-women and gender-expansive individuals in the PHP/IOP/OP level of care. Prior to working at The Renfrew Center, Dallas served as an Admissions, Programs and Resident Life Intern at International House and as an Article 31 Clinic MSSW Intern Therapist at HeartShare Human Services of New York. Dallas is also a former guidance counselor intern with the NYC Department of Education, family consultant at Skilled With Kids, and former New South Wales State Welfare Co-ordinator at Make Poverty History Campaign.
Throughout her professional career, Dallas remained active with different organizations, including the Reach Foundation, Amnesty International, and The Renfrew Center, where they worked as a Primary Therapist. With a profound commitment to anti-oppressive, trauma-informed work and serving the LGBTQIA+ community, Dallas remains an active member of multiple professional organizations and has a wealth of experience working in various communities.
