Veronica Hanus
Veronica Hanus is a highly accomplished programmer and geology researcher based in Brooklyn, NY. Before becoming a programmer, she made a name for herself as a research engineer for Petrolabs at Schlumberger-Doll Research, a research assistant for the MIT Paleomagnetism Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and an intern supporting Mars Curiosity Rover landing site selection at JPL (NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory).
Despite having no formal education in software engineering, Hanus pursued a career in programming and landed a job as a programmer at Recurse Center before becoming a self-employed software engineering contractor. With a passion for exploring the web and teaching, she became a tech public speaker and consultant, leveraging her expertise to help other developers build the tooling and docs they need.
Hanus holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Geology from Colgate University, where she honed her skills and knowledge in the subject.
In her free time, Hanus enjoys blogging and snuggling with cats.
