James Pita is an experienced AI scientist, entrepreneur, and investor with over a decade of experience developing practical applications of AI. Pita has worked on and invested in AI-based solutions across various industries, including security games, machine learning, natural language processing, game theory, and decision theory. Pita is a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in computer science from the University of Southern California and holds a bachelor of science in computer science from Michigan State University.

Pita is currently the principal machine learning engineer at Procore Technologies, where he continues his passion for driving AI solutions for various industries. Prior to Procore Technologies, Pita co-founded Avata Intelligence in 2013, an AI services company that Procore Technologies acquired in 2020.

Pita has leveraged computation game theory to pioneer the field of security games, which has resulted in the publication of his work. He has also worked for two years at RAND Corporation as an operations researcher. Pita continuously grows his expertise in other areas, including deep learning, and has innovated ML models for training and deploying ML models into production via MLOps.
