I design, architect, and configure DevOps processes for delivering code, infrastructure, and 3rd party enterprise software. I currently work with vRA blueprints, CloudCafe requests, vRO work flows and custom actions, Chef Infra Server and client, design and write Azure DevOps Server 2019/2020 (TFS) yaml based build and release pipelines that integrate with Artifactory, Thycotic Secret Server, and ServiceNow within an on-premises VMware cloud.My most recent project was writing a PowerShell migration tool to migrate 60 TeamCity build definitions with custom meta-runners and Octopus deployment projects, to Azure DevOps Server 2019 build and release pipelines. I have also altered the Chef Supermarket SQL Server cookbook to automate the full installation and configuration of SQL Server 2016, ready for use by developers and QA resources. It required adding idempotency for SSMS, and all the post installation DB and DB Server configurations for added databases, setting up monitoring and SQL jobs, disabling SA, indexing, compression, refresh db settings, mail auto-create tasks, job permissions, and a host of custom stored procedures.I have worked on containerization POC’s. I have architected and implemented the necessary changes in our TeamCity – Octopus Deploy CI/DI assembly line to push our .NET/ASP micro services to the PCF instance, as well as to Docker running on a Windows 2016 Server VM. I have helped automate major product version upgrades of the entire Cognizant/TriZetto CareAdvance non-Prod and Prod ISV solution within a private VMware cloud. I built a set of PowerShell modules that could be executed through Octopus Deploy to build, package, and promote a new localized Cognizant/TriZetto CareAdvance environment to any stack; as well as push major and minor releases, change packages, and product hotfixes upstream from development to production. I perform .NET software consulting, production system troubleshooting, and application administration/support.

I was hired to work with application engineers to help bring automation to installation, configuration, and implementation tasks. I was lead on helping the team bring full automation to that complete process. I helped establish automated testing, spinning up an adjacent short term stack, automating the implementation/configuration of the software on that stack, automated testing and validation and then created a CI/CD release pipeline to package up that release so it could be pushed up the regular dev-prod stack as an actual sprint item during a forthcoming sprint. It basically consisted of upgrading the stack first then applying the other sprint items and continue as usual with testing the sprint items. I was responsible for all the technical work as well as sharing information and training the team. I also worked with other teams regarding these items, DBA's, Infrastructure engineering(servers), operational support teams to introduce the automation techniques and process.

I performed front end and server side web application and web service development augmenting cloud user experiences. I was part of a small team who work to design and develop core cloud services and web based applications that accelerate tenant adoption in OneCloud, VMware’s internal private cloud initiative.I gathered requirements, designed web service functionality, and planned the technology stack as well as supported the services. I used HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript based technologies to consume service API’s over HTTPS returning JSON to render data in the DOM. I not only integrated JavaScript libraries to leverage feature sets, but can determine which frameworks and libraries are necessary for the solution. I used my intermediate Photoshop skills to create any graphics necessary. We operated in an Agile scrum development environment, and I am a certified scrum master and played that role.I worked on an application that abstracted and organized vApp Template data from OneCloud vCloud Director instances. I created all the front end code and graphics as well as configured features in Apache/Tomcat including SSL and JNDI Realm Authentication against VMware's main Active Directory repository. I was responsible for designing, creating, and managing the database schema. I also coded session management and logout functionality. The back end was a custom J2EE web service that translated API calls with parameters into SQL queries and returned custom built JSON responses for presentation in the DOM.I also worked on an Extjs/PHP app using a MySQL DB on CentOS 7. It provided capacity planning, cloud metrics, and reporting for vApps and data across OneCloud. I fixed defects, added new story functionality, MySQL database design/administration, scrum master tasks, SVN and GIT repository maintenance, and executing Sencha’s build processes. I also designed and built a Protractor/Jasmine based automated UI testing framework for this non Angular based web application.

I was recruited out of the Systems Analyst Specialist - Software Research and Development(hosting) 2009-2013 back to Professional Services to a new group that was creating an in-house licensed client boot-camp style training and demonstration facility. I was one of the first people on the team other than the Director. We would bring client staff into the facility and share with them implementation, training, support, and operational guidelines that we as a company practiced in hosting as KBP items. We would then follow up those meetings with the implementation process and plan for their product at their site. I was responsible for speaking about the installation, configuration, implementation, testing details during the boot-camp, and then worked with their server team, DBA's, testers to complete the whole implementation. As we added DBA's, application analysts like myself, and QA testers to my team, I trained them in the process, the details of their role on the applications, helped guide them to success in their roles.

Systems Analyst Specialist - Consulting Services

I was part of a 6 person team who participated in transforming enterprise solution stacks (including infrastructure, middleware, OS, system integration, applications, and configuration) into virtual appliances (VMware vApp’s) for MS Windows based software and services. It is currently a patent pending process.I was also responsible for front end development tasks on 1 Team Website, 1 vCenter API Web application, and 1 Remote Management Web application integrated with a custom REST web service. I created all the sites from the ground up writing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and integrating with custom and existing API's.The team website contained information about the team and a document repository. It was mostly jQuery libraries with jQuery DOM manipulation. I also created a couple mobile versions of the Team website for pda or tablet use.The vCenter API web application used vCenter API's to manage VM profiles with added custom functionality that allowed for assigning a template to a VM and powering the VM on. It was  built on C#/Aspx technology and I decoupled the CSS and HTML items from the C# code and added some graphics and UI/UX.The Remote Management Web application operated with AJAX calls over HTTP returning XML for data presentation in the DOM. I used HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and jQuery libraries. It reported overall application and server health for remote VM's running in a vApp within a private cloud. We were primarily in a .NET world so we were looking at implementing Visual Studio MVC version 3/4 at the time while waiting for the PoC to be fully adopted by the organization leadership. I was recruited to build out the implementation and upgrade process for professional services teams integrating the use of vApp processing for licensed clients.

I performed web application development on HealthWeb, an Enterprise web application using <a href="http://ASP.net">ASP.net</a>. I analyzed, fixed, tested, and then implemented solution changes and defect fixes.While cooperating with business analysts, whose responsibility was to define issues with the client that needed to be fixed; I was successfully able to code the necessary fixes, QA test, and promote the solution to production. The client was successfully able to process more business and improve their customer satisfaction ratings due to the expedited solution engineering I provided.I was hoping to implement the next generation of the application which was JSP on top of WebSphere bus; however, an internal re-organization would force me to work under a different organization structure that I did not feel was a good fit for my career path. I was recruited internally for the role above with opportunities to continue performing technical tasks and further web development.

I was responsible for implementing a custom JAVA/Oracle client/server software package. I performed extensive requirements gathering, system, application, and business process analysis; software and hardware configuration and implementation; quality assurance; and technical system support tasks on all environments. I was responsible for the full software implementation life cycle.I successfully provided total end to end implementation and support for clients. I successfully demonstrated intermediate to advanced SQL skills within a year and had never worked with databases prior. I successfully demonstrated the ability to read and understand JAVA code within 1.5 years and was made responsible to provide maintenance to JAVA based server side tools used to configure and support the implementation of the solution; despite never working with object oriented code before. I successfully demonstrated the ability to become a SME on third party OCR recognition and HP scanning technologies within 1 year implementing the solution. I was also well versed with integration points into the ChannelPoint product.I operated as the lead consultant for the team, working to guide new members through application functionality as well as leading them in the installation, configuration, implementation, testing, and delivery process. I also coordinated that work with the PM to bring those changes and enhancements up the stack from development to production and then coordinated the delivery with the client. On the client side, I was responsible for interacting with management, Director and VP level teams to make sure they understood as best they could the technical details of the solution, the implementation plan, and road map.

Within 2 years, I was successfully providing technical support for Adobe’s FrameMaker+SGML authoring product on Windows and Mac OS. Within 2.5 years I had been promoted to the highest technical position possible outside of management and I did not want to move my career down the management track.I begin using HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, and web server technologies as well as gaining vital exposure and expertise with Photoshop while an employee at Adobe.
