Bex Hicks

Sexual Health Educator & MPH/MSW Candidate

Bex Hicks is a dedicated advocate for reproductive justice and intersectional health education with a strong focus on youth empowerment and gender/sexual equity.

Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Welfare and Public Health at UC Berkeley, Bex is passionate about bridging healing/health spaces and fostering personal and community care.

Education includes studies in French at Université Catholique d'Afrique Centrale, International Baccalaureate Diploma at United World College Costa Rica, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Middlebury College with high honors.

Professional experience spans various roles such as State Certified Sexual Assault Survivor Advocate at Bay Area Women Against Rape (BAWAR), Youth Services Health Educator at Mission Neighborhood Health Center, and Certified Sex Educator at San Francisco Sex Information.

Additional roles held include Case Manager at Women's Community Clinic and Lyon-Martin Health Services, Client Access Coordinator at Women's Community Clinic, Online Health Educator at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and positions at various other organizations focusing on health education and social welfare.

Bex has also contributed to environmental initiatives, including serving as an Environmental Studies Senior Capstone participant in Radon Outreach at Middlebury College and roles at organizations such as Greenpeace and the Nature Conservation Research Centre.

Further experiences include work in academic settings as an Educator and Coordinator for student-led workshops, Peer Career Advisor, and roles in international and community development, reflecting a diverse skill set and a commitment to social impact.
