Reporting to the Tribal planner, I identify federal, state and private grants, match them to the appropriate departments and enterprises within the Tribal government and provide support as needed to assure well-developed grant applications are submitted under deadline.

I have the great fortune to coordinate the science, strategize the plan, write the grants,  and build a community of eco-conscious citizens, to protect and enhance the water quality of a 430-acre lake and a 200-acre land preserve in south central Wisconsin.

Running a campaign around the values of sustainability, environmental stewardship, and fiscal responsibility was an excellent opportunity to clearly express much of what drives me. It was gratifying to have these visions resonate with voters, and my time on the Council has allowed me to contribute to the place I love, from a position of leadership. Our City staff are dedicated professionals, and it is a pleasure to work with them and with the citizens, to envision the best way toward a just, thriving, and sustainable City.  Initiatives I have led and am proud of are -- obtaining a $100,000 Easter Seals  Accessible Transit Grant to customize a solution for helping those with mobility impairments to live fuller lives;  getting the first public solar electric  installation approved for a well station to reduce operational costs; losing a tough battle over the structure of the economic development commission because it taught me many lessons on the timing and effectiveness of change strategies. In losing, one can learn more, if open to it.  I have also worked to improve our downtown by getting a Resolution passed the Council for Fort Atkinson to join the Connect Communities program of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and am leading an effort to bring the National Incremental Development Alliance to Fort Atkinson to hold a conference. We are the only small market that they are agreeing to work with, and it is due to the relationship building I've done with the group.

I act as a liaison to connect our 200 members living in eleven houses across downtown Madison, Wisconsin, with each other, staff and officers to enhance the experience of cooperative living. I communicate effectively and warmly through email, phone, e-newsletter. I maintain leases, databases, spreadsheets and all other support materials that make up the legal contracts with members, and create a discernible paper record for future rental references and credit checks. I also provide meeting support for our education, coordinating, membership and Board meetings.

Worked from a home office to support the volunteer Board of Directors in every capacity of running a environmental nonprofit from grant writing and fundraising to program evaluation.  Town and Country RC&D launched or promoted social programs that adhered to triple bottom line practices. 
In my role, I created an internal communication wiki page, that allowed all Directors immediate access to my and each other's program updates and organizational progress. 
Created programming and events, emphasizing niche farming issues and farm markets, alternative financing for start ups, water issues and policy, promotion and evaluation. Created landing pages, used on-line registration services, and leveraged my time and the agency's budget with free or low-cost apps that were just being created.
Recruited members, provided membership services, and tracked using Salesforce CRM. 

Communicated with stakeholders using email, website on a Weebly platform, social media, and an enewsletter on Constant Contact, later migrated to Mailchimp.

I had a wonderful year teaching 6th, 7th and 8th graders language arts, with an emphasis on grammar and writing.

A job organizing volunteers to accomplish projects that both conserved and developed natural resources lured me away, but I've decided to get back into teaching by tutoring students.  I've started a tutoring service, 3 A's Tutoring Service, to keep my hand in teaching academics.
