Bert Deixler

Bert H. Deixler is a highly experienced attorney and commercial litigator with over 40 years of practice. He currently serves as Counsel at Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP, a Los Angeles-based litigation boutique.1

Deixler is particularly renowned for his expertise in entertainment, media, and intellectual property law. He has represented prominent artists in music, TV, and new media, as well as major studios, broadcast networks, and production companies. His practice covers a wide range of issues including copyright, trademark, digital downloading, libel, and rights of privacy matters.1

Throughout his career, Deixler has achieved several notable accomplishments:

• He has tried numerous cases to verdict and litigated cases involving more than 25 reported decisions.1
• He appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court in the landmark case Johnson v. California, which ruled against forced racial segregation in California's prison system. This work earned him the prestigious California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY) Award.1
• As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division, he also represents clients in white-collar crime cases, SEC actions, and other regulatory proceedings.1

Deixler's commitment to public service is evident in his involvement with various reform commissions, including the Los Angeles Ethics Commission and the Independent Commission on the Los Angeles Police Department. He has also contributed to initiatives promoting access to civil justice, such as helping establish the Pro Se Clinic of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.1

Deixler received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He completed his B.A. at George Washington University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.1
