Bert Benckhuijsen is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in Commissioning, Start-up, Operations and Process Technology within Oil & Gas mega projects, including LNG, upstream & downstream sectors.

He has been involved in major projects such as Novatek Arctic LNG in Russia, Sakhalin Energy in Russia, Gorgon LNG in Australia, as well as refineries in the Netherlands & Singapore and Gas to Liquid operation in Malaysia.

Bert's operational expertise spans process technology, operational management, reliability improvement, and shutdown preparation.

With a background as a technology manager for gas treating, oil gasification, hydrogen manufacturing, heavy paraffin synthesis, and LNG, he has shown a track record of successful development of functional improvements by leading strong teams towards common goals.

Bert Benckhuijsen has a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Cryogenic Technology from TU Delft in the Netherlands.

His professional journey includes roles such as Commissioning Manager for the Arctic LNG 2 project at NOVATEK, Commissioning, Start-up, and Operations Readiness Manager at Shell, Business Improvement Manager for Shell Integrated Gas, and Principal Operations Readiness & Commissioning Engineer at Shell.

He also served as Commissioning & Start-up coordinator for Gorgon LNG at Chevron, Process Technology Manager for Russia's first LNG facility at Sakhalin Energy, and in various engineering and managerial positions at Shell focusing on operations, commissioning, and process engineering.
