Bernhard Mattlener has a passion for revolutionizing the aviation industry. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at HORTEN Aircraft GmbH, Mattlener and his team are working on designing and building highly advanced and efficient Flying Wing aircraft for commercial use. He is part of the team that will introduce the first Nurflügel-Flugzeugkonzept to the world of Civil Aviation. Before joining HORTEN, Mattlener studied Jurastudium, allgemein at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. He successfully built and flown PUL9 & PUL10 prototypes, designed by Dr. Reimar Horten. The development of the HORTEN aircraft is based on his previous experience with the prototypes. Mattlener and his team will be conducting the first flight testing of the two-seater prototype HX-2 in early 2018 with the goal of making it available for civil usage and successfully establish the Nurflügel-Flugzeugkonzept on the market.
