Bernard Farrell

Bernard Farrell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University College Dublin, with a strong background in design, object-oriented development, rapid prototyping, software architecture, software tool development, and mentoring. With years of experience in different Agile teams, Bernard has also coached people on Agile.
Bernard's areas of expertise include the development of elegant user interfaces to solve complex problems. He has developed various iOS apps for iPad using Xcode and AppCode, JavaScript and CSS-based HTML apps, and Java Swing apps. Not only that, but Bernard has also developed RESTful APIs to support client software needs.
As an excellent user-to-tech translator, Bernard can easily communicate users' needs into engineering terms. He has delivered presentations multiple times to audiences ranging from 30 to 200+ people on technical and personal topics.
Believing in the sharing of knowledge and best practices, Bernard has been instrumental in creating, deploying, and advocating for internal wikis and blogs. He is the go-to person for problem-solving in his different workgroups.
Bernard has worked at some of the leading companies in the technology industry, including Symantec, IBM, & Kronos. At Kronos, Bernard worked as a UI Architect, at Symantec as a Principal Software Engineer, and at IBM as a Software Engineer. Bernard has also worked as a Manager of the UI Group at Logica NA.
