Benny Poon

Benny Poon is a Senior Manager of Architectural Integrity at Amazon Lab126, a position he has held since July 2022. He is based in Sunnyvale, California, and has over 14 years of experience in the high-tech industry. His role involves leading structural and thermal design analysis teams to support the development of consumer electronic products, including those in the Echo, FireTV, and E-reader product lines. He has also been responsible for driving strategic initiatives to address product challenges and improve operational efficiencies within the organization.1

Prior to his current role, Poon served in various positions at Amazon Lab126, including Senior Manager of Product Design Analysis and Manager of Product Design Analysis. His earlier experience includes a brief tenure at Meta as a Structural Design and Analysis engineer.1

Poon holds a PhD in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology, along with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering and an A.B. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has published several research papers in the fields of solid mechanics and material characterization.1
