Benjamin Reinhardt

Benjamin Reinhardt is a Research Fellow at the Astera Institute, where he focuses on enabling innovative scientific advancements that often seem like science fiction. His tenure at the institute lasted from October 2020 to July 2022, during which he explored new institutional structures to facilitate high-leverage science and technology, program design, and the establishment of a private Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) model.14

In addition to his role at the Astera Institute, Reinhardt is the CEO of Speculative Technologies, a position he has held since October 2021. His background includes significant experience in various research and entrepreneurial roles, such as being an Entrepreneur in Residence at Susa Ventures and Entrepreneur First, and working as a Deep Learning Researcher at Magic Leap. He has also completed several research fellowships with NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he contributed to projects involving robotics and spacecraft technology.123

Reinhardt's academic credentials include a graduate fellowship at Cornell University, where he worked on electromagnetic actuators for space robots and developed simulation frameworks for spacecraft.1 His work reflects a strong commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical applications in technology and science.
