Benjamin Jaimes
Assistant Scientist at University of Miami
Benjamin Jaimes is a physical oceanographer specializing in hurricane-ocean interactions, vertical mixing over the upper ocean, and dynamics of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.
His research encompasses observational, numerical, and theoretical approaches, focusing on understanding the impact of vertical mixing on hurricane intensity.
Currently, Benjamin holds the position of Assistant Scientist at the University of Miami's Upper Ocean Dynamics Laboratory.
He pursued his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master's degree in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the University of Miami.
Benjamin Jaimes has previously served as a Post-doctoral Associate and Research Assistant at the University of Miami and the IPN, respectively.
