Benjamin Hanan is a highly experienced attorney with a great business acumen. With a background in both law and accounting, he specializes in business and estate planning, including entity formation, funding, joint ventures, and equity owner agreements. He provides keen insight into the legal and business issues faced by his clients, regardless of how big or small their enterprise is. Benjamin also has expertise in estate planning, having worked with numerous individuals and families to achieve their planning goals. He has designed estate plans to address tax mitigation, asset protection, wealth preservation, transfer of wealth to beneficiaries, philanthropy, and more.

In addition, Benjamin has a unique ability to counsel business owners and their families with respect to succession planning and family business matters. Currently serving as the Managing Partner for Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in Sarasota, Benjamin has previously held positions as a Partner and Certified Public Accountant at the same firm, as well as a Shareholder at Abel Band, Chartered. He holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
