Ben Greenberg

Journalist, Producer, Editor | investigating history, civil rights and racist crimes

Benjamin Greenberg is a seasoned writer and digital producer with a diverse background in investigative reporting, strategic communications, and digital media. With a passion for African American culture, civil rights, and human rights, Benjamin has worked as an investigative journalist on unpunished racial violence in Mississippi and southern states during the 1950s and 1960s.

Benjamin obtained his degrees from prestigious universities, including an MA in Writing Seminars from The Johns Hopkins University and an MA, ABD in English from Boston University. He also holds a BA in English from Brandeis University. Over the years, Benjamin has developed specialties in digital-first storytelling, archival research, investigative reporting, photography, editing, and strategic communications.

Currently, Benjamin is the Director of Digital Content at WGBH. Prior to his appointment at WGBH, Benjamin worked as a Freelance Writer, Senior Manager of Digital Communications at Management Sciences for Health, Acting Chief Communications Officer at Physicians for Human Rights, Manager of Online Communications at Physicians for Human Rights, and an Investigative Reporter at Civil Rights Cold Case Project.

Other roles Benjamin held before his appointment at Civil Rights Cold Case Project include Web Community Coordinator, Guest Editor of Dollars & Sense Magazine, Tutor for several institutions, Copy Editor and Proofreader of POLIN: Studies in Polish Jewry, and College Instructor at Boston University.

Overall, Benjamin is a versatile professional with vast expertise in digital media and communication, investigative reporting, civil and human rights, and African American culture and history.
