Principal Software Architect

As Principal Software Architect of Render at Hyland Software, I am responsible for the architecture and vision of rendering technology used across the Hyland suite of products. Working with a distributed team, we build products and tools that allow the organization to tap into unstructured content and enable viewing/printing of 100s of file types without using the native application.

It’s also a key reason that enterprise search is now essential technology in this age of information and big data.As Principal Architect and Engineering Manager, I was responsible for Enterprise Search and Document Filtering/Processing technology, used both externally and internal to the organization.- Designed complex and scalable systems- Defined deliverables, and hit release targets- Grew and mentored the development; ran successful summer intern programs- Communicated with all levels of the organization- Managed a balance between new feature work, and technical debt- Integrated technology with different parts of the organization

SpotOn's rich media business communications platform helped sales and marketing professionals improve the efficiency and impact of their entire sales cycle, from generating awareness to closing customers. Positioned as an "eCollateral" solution, SpotOn allowed companies to quickly create voice-enabled, online presentations (called "WebTours") from any Web-based or PowerPoint content.As a Software Engineer, I worked in a team responsible for developing and maintaining the SpotOn technology stack: - Java/DB2 backend - JSP website - C++ front-end Windows client - C++ front-end browser plugin for Internet Explorer - Java Applet front-end browser plugin

Provide consulting services to customers through the Borland (then Inprise) professional services department. Working with a Project lead, projects focused on using Delphi, Interbase and FastReports to produce data management applications with extensive reporting.
