Ben Tompkins

Ben Tompkins is a highly experienced professional with a career spanning three decades in advising and investing in Europe's top technology companies.

Currently serving as the Managing Director in Stifel's Global Technology Group, Ben focuses on software companies selling into various industries such as Financial Services, productivity, data analytics, and eCommerce enabling technologies.

Prior to his role at Stifel, Ben held the position of Managing Partner at Draper Esprit, a renowned VC/growth investor in Europe, where he played a crucial role in supporting entrepreneurs to establish groundbreaking technology firms. Some of the notable portfolio companies he was involved with include Graphcore, Revolut, N26, TrustPilot, Transferwise, Aircall, and Thought Machine.

Before his time at Draper Esprit, Ben served as a General Partner at Eden Ventures, a tech-focused early-stage VC. During his tenure, he led investments in companies like New Voice Media (later acquired by Vonage), Green Man Gaming, Acunu (acquired by Apple), Apertio (acquired by Siemens Nokia Networks), and Secerno (acquired by Oracle).

Earlier in his career, Ben held the position of Managing Director at Jefferies Broadview, where he advised on notable exits including Kelkoo, Promethean, Blizzard Studios/World of Warcraft, uDate, Musiwave, IRIS Software, Scoot, and Loot.

In addition to his roles in prominent organizations, Ben is an angel investor in early-stage technology startups, contributing to the growth of companies like HEXR, Things3D, Method Grid, Zego, and Elasticstage.

Ben Tompkins pursued his education at the University of Huddersfield, where he studied LLB in Business Law, and at the Inns of Court, focusing on Barrister, Corporate & Commercial Law.
