Ben Metz is the Executive Director of The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP), an initiative aimed at transforming contractual law to combat climate change. Under his leadership, TCLP mobilizes a global network of lawyers and business leaders to incorporate climate-friendly clauses into commercial contracts, thereby facilitating rapid decarbonization across various sectors. Prior to his role at TCLP, Metz was involved in various significant initiatives. He was a founding member of the Big Lottery Fund's Community Recycling and Economic Development program and served as a Director for Ashoka in the UK. His background encompasses extensive experience as a consultant in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sector, where he focuses on building systems that address climate and biodiversity challenges.12
Metz is characterized as an entrepreneur and systems thinker, utilizing his expertise in development processes to foster collaborative environments that drive systemic change. He has also founded two local non-governmental organizations in the UK and has worked on projects for various NGOs, philanthropies, and governmental agencies.23
