Ben Mathes

Ben Mathes is an accomplished professional in the field of utility-scale energy projects in the United States, with expertise in all stages of development.

His core responsibilities include site identification, acquisition, early-stage project development, leading RFP responses, and managing relationships with off-takers and contractors.

Ben has led successful proposals for multiple RFPs, securing contracted PPAs totaling 663.7 MW across 9 sites, with two PPAs from Fortune 100 companies, and negotiations covering over 8,000 acres across 11 sites.

Ben Mathes holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Ohio University Honors Tutorial College.

He has a diverse professional background, having served in various roles at Hecate Energy LLC, including Senior Development Associate, Development Associate, Development Analyst, and Executive Personal Assistant/Development Analyst.

Before his time at Hecate Energy, Ben was a Campaign Manager for Eddie Smith for the 94th District, an Intern at the United States Senate, and held positions within the Ohio University Student Senate, including Commissioner for Governmental Affairs, Voinovich Undergraduate Research Scholar, Vice-Commissioner for Governmental Affairs, and Vice Commissioner of Academic Affairs.
