Software Engineering Manager

I returned to Grant Street Group after a six-week trip through Europe. During this internship, I developed a tool that allowed Business Analysts in the company to manage JIRA users. This tool was a full-stack web application that utilized Backbone.js, Underscore.js, Require.js, Mojolicious, and Bootstrap. Its front-end communicated with the back-end via a RESTful API that I developed, and it interacted with users through the JIRA REST API.

Web Development Intern

I was responsible for creating a user-friendly time tracking web interface for the Grant Street Group. This time tracking interface allowed employees to keep track of how many hours they spent on specific projects during their days. It was closely integrated with Grant Street Group's support ticketing system, and it pushed each user's weekly time data to a third party time tracking service for taxation and billing.

I created this time tracking web interface from scratch during the summer of 2015 for Grant Street Group. For the app back-end, I used Perl and various Perl modules (DBIx::Class for database management; Template::Toolkit for view templating; and Test::More and Test::Moose for unit testing). For the front-end, I used such modern technologies as HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, jQuery UI, and Bootstrap to create a smooth, user-friendly interface. All of my code was managed with Git, and I used Grant Street Group's ticketing system to keep track of my completed and uncompleted tasks.

I worked with children of all ages who either have low social income, have an Axis 1 diagnosis, or have a parent in jail. HOPE stands for Helping Overcome Problems Everyday.
