Ben Isaacson

Ben Isaacson is an experienced privacy professional currently serving as Of Counsel at Fathom Law in San Francisco, where he leads the firm's data privacy and information security practice. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) in both the United States and Europe, highlighting his expertise in the field of privacy law.23

With over 25 years of experience, Ben has played a significant role in shaping privacy practices since the early days of the internet. He was instrumental in developing the first self-regulatory guidelines for email marketing and mobile marketing, and he actively lobbied for the CAN-SPAM Act as the Executive Director of the Association for Interactive Marketing. Additionally, he served as Experian’s global head of digital privacy for a decade and founded a push notification filtering app.1

Ben holds a J.D. from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the State Bar of California and has been recognized for his contributions to the field of privacy law, including being one of the first professionals to earn the CIPP/US certification in 2005.13
