Ben Cmejla is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in venture capital, investments, special projects, and international trade. He is a graduate of Middlebury College, where he studied East Asian Studies and Chinese language. He also spent time studying Chinese language at Yunnan University and completed his high school education at Deerfield Academy.
Ben has worked in various roles throughout his career, including as the Founder of Something new in venture and the Vice President of Investments at First Round Capital, where he managed portfolio companies, raised funds, and led various deals. He also worked on special projects and served as Chief of Staff at the same company. Prior to venturing into venture capital, Ben worked as a consultant and analyst at Asia Pacific Land, where he researched and analyzed real estate investments across Asia. He also served as an Economics and Trade Research Intern at the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, where he gained valuable insights into the complexities of international trade.
Ben is a dedicated language teacher and has worked as a Chinese Language Teaching Assistant at Middlebury College, where he shared his passion for Chinese language and culture with students.
