Ben Chartoff

Ben Chartoff is an accomplished professional with a strong background in data and data visualization, currently serving as the Director of Data Visualization at The Urban Institute.

With a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Geological Sciences, and Integrated Sciences from Northwestern University, Ben brings a diverse educational background to his work.

Throughout his career, Ben has held various roles in prominent organizations, including being a Data Visualization Developer at The Urban Institute, a Knight Mozilla Fellow at The Washington Post, and a Contract Designer at Plotly.

Ben has also contributed his expertise as a Research Intern at The Sunlight Foundation, an Intern at New York Public Library, a Library Circulation Assistant at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and an Assistant to Project Archivist at Syracuse University.

Furthermore, his experience includes serving as an Information Science Master's Student at Syracuse University, a GRE Instructor at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, and a Teaching Fellow at The Taft School.
