    Ben Cerveny is an accomplished executive, strategist, and designer with over 30 years of experience in various fields such as operating systems, media applications, web services, product design, the built environment, and digital games.

    Currently, Ben is focused on establishing a Foundation that aims to assist cities and public organizations in creating and sharing Public Code, which encompasses open, intelligible, and practical software and policies on a civic scale.

    Prior to his current endeavor, Ben served as a Design Fellow at Samsung, overseeing a project related to room-scale programmable environments. Moreover, he played a pivotal role in the design and development of the well-known multiplayer game that evolved into Flickr, which he also named. Additionally, Ben founded the Experience Design Lab at Frogdesign and acted as the CEO of Bloom Studios, a company whose data visualization iPad application, Planetary, was eventually acquired by the Smithsonian Institution.

    Ben Cerveny pursued his undergraduate studies in Philosophy of Science and Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley.

    Throughout his career, Ben has been associated with various notable organizations like the Berggruen Institute, where he held the position of Senior Fellow, and The Foundation For Public Code, where he served as the President & Chairman of the Board. He also contributed his expertise as an Associate Director at Antikythera, as faculty at Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design, and in numerous roles at companies such as Samsung Electronics, Arup, Stupid Fun Club, Bloom Studio Inc, Gray Area Foundation For The Arts, AFK, Revver, Stamen, frog design, and Flickr, among others.
