George Leslie

George Leslie is a dedicated researcher currently focusing on innovative gene therapy approaches to render the immune system resistant to HIV-1 infection. His main research project is supported by the NIH and has progressed to human clinical trials since December 2016, in partnership with Sangamo BioScience Inc situated in Richmond, CA.

In addition to his work on the HIV cure project, George collaborates on various initiatives such as vaccine design, chimeric antigen receptors (CAR-T cells), and viral parthenogenesis projects. He brings a wealth of expertise in biotech and healthcare management, intellectual property, biotech entrepreneurship, business development, and biotechnology application/commercialization.

George Leslie has honed his skills through engagements with the PBG Healthcare Consulting Group, a joint initiative of Wharton Business School and Penn Medical School, as well as a Fellowship with the Penn Center for Technology Transfer. He has gained valuable experience in technology transfer and market commercialization, bolstered by his coursework in the Wharton Healthcare MBA program and Penn Law School, along with his involvement with biotech startup companies.
