Thiago Colares is a seasoned senior software developer with more than 13 years of experience working in various fields of web and mobile development. His primary areas of expertise include working with PHP, modern JavaScript, Python, utilizing modern frameworks and libraries, and following good development practices. Thiago's comprehensive knowledge spans the entire software development lifestyle, and his focus includes user experience and incorporating agile values following eXtreme Programming.

For six years, Thiago has been running the Brazilian pioneer cloud Accounting firm where he automated the tax calculation, business processes, and accounting entries for entrepreneurs, turning e-invoicing into a hassle-free experience. His automation efforts and strategies enabled him and his team to provide annual savings of $2000 to more than 5000 entrepreneurs. Thiago is currently experimenting with machine learning to refine and improve these automations further.

In the past decade, Thiago founded two tech startups from scratch that completed more than 50 software projects. He has led teams of 5-10 developers to ensure the completion of software projects successfully. Among his many achievements, Thiago was the creator of "My Wonderland," wherein 24 hours, he developed an app that ranked the place where there are more concerts performed by the artists one loves and won the SoundCloud Music Hack Day, enabling him to attend the Campus Party Berlin.

Thiago devotes his free time to share his knowledge and learn new things. In the last year, he has given dozens of talks in five different Brazilian capitals, held community events, gave internal tech talks, exchanged a lot with his teammates, and contributed to Open Source projects such as Mozilla Firefox and PhpMyAdmin. He is currently working on a Ukulele Chord Chart React component and studying Machine Learning, scikit-learn, Serverless, Laravel, React, Google Cloud, Design Sprint, Kubernetes (minikube).

Thiago completed his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at the Universidade Federal da Bahia. His notable professional experience includes being a Senior Software Developer at Shopify, a Technical Lead at MindGeek, CTO/Cofounder, and Full-stack Developer/Cofounder at Agilize - Contabilidade Online, a Full-stack developer, Project Manager, and Cofounder at Apimenti, a Software Developer at Recôncavo de Tecnologia, and an Undergraduate Researcher at Universidade Federal da Bahia.
