Laura Michie is a marine biologist with extensive experience in scientific research, project coordination, and communication. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology from the University of Portsmouth and has worked in various roles in academia, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. Laura is currently the Project Coordinator and Communications Manager at the Mangrove Action Project (MAP), where she is responsible for managing projects, coordinating with partners and stakeholders, and developing communication strategies to raise awareness on the importance of mangrove conservation. Prior to MAP, she worked as a freelance science communicator and a research associate at the University of Portsmouth. Laura has also served as a lecturer and a project manager for various organizations such as Operation Wallacea and The Chatty Scientist.

Throughout her career, Laura has developed a wide range of skills, including scientific research, project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement. She is passionate about marine conservation and has expertise in various marine ecosystems, including mangroves, coral reefs, and seagrass beds. Her work has focused on understanding the ecological processes that underpin these ecosystems and identifying ways to conserve them sustainably. In addition, Laura is skilled in science communication and has experience in developing content for various audiences, including policymakers, scientists, and the general public.
