Product Analyst Consultant

I worked on Dexter: Hidden Darkness, an official mobile game based on the TV Show of Dexter. I collaborated with CBS in order to coordinate the communications on their channels. This game has been released on iOS, Android and Amazon. As the Marketing Manager, I learned the Agile methodology to be involved in the heart of the development. With the backlog, the scrums and iterative approach, this methodology was giving us a chance to get user’s feedbacks, to get data from the analytics and to get a greater visibility on the upcoming features and new updates. -	Supervised the marketing team and the external providers to shape the marketing strategy and trained the Marketing Coordinator in order to synchronize the communication plan. -	Developed a marketing plan and managed a budget over $1 million mainly for the User Acquisition through ad networks including Facebook, Chartboost, Twitter and more.-	Analyzed the sales number, KPIs, funnels and A/B Tests on a daily basis from many sources including Swrve, Flurry, AppFigures and Tune to optimize our acquistion strategy.-	Managed PR marketing functions through press releases and news in the Canadian channels (newswires, websites, bloggers and partners, in this case CBS and Showtime).Key accomplishments-	Pioneered the centralization of advertising, more specifically the user acquisitions to improve the CTR & to minimize the CPI while targeting the users with the best LTV and retention D1.-	Created and improved monetization features to increase the average revenue per daily active user from the IAPs and the game advertisements (rewarded and non-rewarded). -	Defined the key metrics to monitore from the different sources, validated the data and created a dashboard to provide a visibility and recommendations to each work division. -	Built solid PR operations with 2 launchs that results into reaching the #1 position in all apps on the Apple’s App Store in Canada and great ranking into the top English countries.

Marketing Manager, User Acquisition & Analytics

Jointly worked with the company’s president and department directors, I helped identify and develop new revenue opportunities, as well as analyse, implement, and achieve marketing strategies for upcoming game titles. I mainly focused on user acquisition (ROI driven performance marketing) and retention & monetization (ARM). In order to make sure the best tools are implemented and the best practices are applied each year, I attended several events such as Casual Connect, MIGS, and Game Monetization Europe.On an average day, I coordinated the efforts of the marketing department to launch, promote, and upgrade all our premium and freemium games based on customer data analysis and feedback. To improve retention, conversion and lifetime value, I integrated, throughout my workload, different tools such as Swrve and Flurry to conduct A/B tests, recurrent promotions, push notifications, cross-promotions, tracking systems and analytic tools. I also took part in the social club once in a while to improve our workplace’s environment.Data analytics implementation and development provides valuable consumer insight that gives the production team actionable data that serves as a basis on which game development decisions are taken. A good example of this was when we decided to turn a premium mobile game into an F2P game. We based ourselves on metric analysis and user behavior extrapolation in order to explore potential revenues. Other aspects of my work included management of the providers who operate our social networks, implement new features on our website on a weekly basis, and supervise customer service issues handled by my team. Also, with the help of the QA team, we were always looking to improve the effectiveness of our business process in order to ensure customer satisfaction. I was also the go-to guy for mostly all external technology partner relations regarding acquisition (ad networks, bloggers), retention, monetization, and business intelligence.

Marketing Coordinator

Vault05 was a Canadian independant game developer on iOS and I started this business with a solid partner. We worked with external providers around the world (20-25 partners in over 15 different countries). I managed the development team (schedules, reports, hires & budgets) and I designed the game (levels, missions, characters & upgrades). As a marketing expert, I’ve also executed the market analysis and looked at the competition on a regular basis. It was a great learning to be self-employed, self-governance and to priorize every aspect one day at a time.

I’ve done consultation during my Master of Science and I continued after for several companies including Procter & Gamble, Université de Sherbrooke and Savoroso. Each mandate has a different objective but it was mostly about creating a marketing plan, integrating the social medias to an existing strategy, benchmarking the competition, evaluate the SWOT of the company, branding, extensive analysis of reaching a new demographic. Procter & Gamble was different than the other since it was supervised by a professor during my Master of Science and I worked, with my team, to define the best KPIs in order to improve their entire intranet in 2010 and to provide recommandations on how to increase the awareness by the employees as well as the use of it.

I created a personal blog about the marketing in the videogame industry and I’ve started it during my Master of Science. I’ve covered many topics since the beginning, from the advergames, the in-game advertising, statistics in the industry, theoretical researches, the consumers, market evolution of the consoles, the mobile (Premium & F2P), the new technologies as well as some major news in the videogame industry. When I was writing posts couple times a week, I saw thousands of unique visitors and had a lots of comments and emails from the readers.

As a product expert during several years, I learned how the retail industry works and what it involves. Starting at supply chain to the final sale with the customers, my role was to provide the best solution for each customer based on their needs and to give full satisfaction to the customers. On the other side, I learned about new technology everyday to understand what they can bring to the customers at the end. Finally, I reached the objectives fixed by the manager and was often in the top 20% between all Canadian salesman, month after month, even if I was part-time. I also attended a national Vendor Fair in Toronto with my manager as a reward.

At the end of my study in Computer Science, I needed to do an intership and I wanted to travel at the same time. I searched for an open position in Marseille, France as well as an apartment. I found the job in BDJ Informatique and my role was mostly to create and host the new website of the company and help the partner’s websites, implement different peripheral devices in the network (NAS, Camera, Security system, etc) and create an emailing campaign to increase the sales.

My role at Bell Canada, one of the largest telecommunication company in Canada, was to support the project managers with the process of requests from Hydro-Quebec, cable companies and customers. The office was mostly about engineering that is about installing new electric poles or power poles. I was receiving the requests, was analyzing them and was processing them through several softwares (SAP & DUC included). I’ve also trained my colleagues on the process I’ve created.
