Lori Hellkamp

Lori Hellkamp, a seasoned tax expert at JONES DAY®, excels in providing innovative commercial solutions for intricate tax matters. Her expertise encompasses diverse areas such as corporate tax, international tax, M&A, and tax controversy, with a special focus on international tax planning, compliance, and structuring for global transactions. Lori boasts extensive experience in facilitating foreign investments into the U.S., particularly in the real estate and renewable energy sectors.

Lori has guided numerous public and private entities through complex multijurisdictional tax challenges, liaising with the IRS for optimal outcomes. Her accomplishments include securing favorable private rulings, negotiating advance pricing agreements, and resolving disputes through Competent Authority proceedings. She demonstrates proficiency in handling an array of tax concerns such as tax treaties, transfer pricing, withholding, digital assets, FIRPTA, anti-boycott regulations, and U.S. tax reforms.

A prominent figure in the legal community, Lori is actively involved in the D.C. Bar and American Bar Associations. She holds the esteemed position of Chair at the ABA Tax Section's Committee on US Activities of Foreigners & Tax Treaties. An avid writer and speaker on tax matters, Lori contributes significantly to the field and serves as a Board Member at the George Washington University-IRS International Annual Tax Institute.
