Dr. Kurt Kaltenegger is a highly accomplished technology expert with a diverse and impressive background. He currently serves as the Group Vice President and CTO of ABB Technology Ventures and is a member of ABB Technology Core Team. Kurt has an extensive background in physics and previously served as an assistant professor at Montanistic University Leoben in Austria. He joined ABB in 1991 as an R&D Manager for HV Technology and has held multiple positions within the company since then, including Head of Power Lab at ABB Switzerland, Global Technology Manager for ABB MV Technology Development, and Head of 12 ABB Technology Centers worldwide.

Kurt's current role at ABB Technology Ventures involves leading corporate venture capital investments mainly in the Cleantech sector. He has been involved in 15 equity investment deals to date and is widely recognized for his expertise in technology management, innovation management, and technology strategy development. He has also played a key role in project management and leading task force teams at ABB, and has worked in challenging intercultural and interdisciplinary environments.

Kurt is exceptionally innovative and visionary, known for his multi-disciplinary thinking, technology and trend scouting, and analytical cross-functional approach. He is highly systematic and strategic in innovation and research, and has excellent didactic talent and communication skills.
