Jacob Cohen is a microbial physiologist with a passion for cultivating and studying bacteria, especially anaerobes. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of South Florida, Jacob pursued a Doctor of Philosophy at Harvard University, where he explored the physiology of iron-oxidizing Zetaproteobacteria. With over eight years of research experience, Jacob is competent in complex experimental design, microbiology and molecular biology techniques, and computational data analysis using R and Python. He is currently a Test Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, where he explores fermentation and metabolic engineering. Jacob's extensive expertise in metabolic engineering and anaerobic organisms make him a valuable asset to any microbiology or biotechnology team.
