Philip Friesen
Philip Friesen is an experienced and passionate outdoor leader with a diverse background in experiential education. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology (Pre-Med) and a Master's degree in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University. With over two decades of experience leading backpacking trips in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, canoe trips with court-referred youth, and mountain climbing expeditions in Patagonia and Ecuador, Friesen has developed a keen eye for leadership development in the outdoors. He is a Single Pitch Instructor Provider for the Professional Climbing Instructor Association (PCIA) and uses this knowledge to teach climbing classes at Pacific University. Friesen also founded the Outdoor Pursuits Program and the Outdoor Leadership Minor at Pacific University. He is dedicated to helping students discover their leadership style and potential by challenging themselves in a supportive community.
