Rich Williams

Rich Williams is a seasoned development economist specializing in public sector reform and economic development project management.

With a diverse background spanning the UK, Africa, Asia, and the South Pacific, Rich has worked with various governments, donors, and academic institutions.

He currently serves as the leader of OPM's economic and governance team, driving initiatives centered around inclusive growth, resilience, and public sector governance.

Rich's key areas of expertise encompass public policy, financial and private sector market development, natural resource governance, public financial management, political economy, and impact evaluation.

His extensive work experience includes contributions to projects in countries such as Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Tanzania, United Kingdom, and Zambia.

Rich pursued his education at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the University of York.

Throughout his career, he has held significant roles including Consultant in Economic Policy at Oxford Policy Management, Adviser at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Sierra Leone, Research Associate in Political Economy at the University of Bath, and Chief Economic Officer at the Ministry of Finance and Treasury within the Solomon Islands Government.
