Joseph Broderick
Joseph Broderick is a well-known name in the medical field, particularly in the area of neurology and stroke care. He currently serves as the Director of the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute and the Van Wagenen Professor of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Broderick's research has been instrumental in advancing the understanding of strokes and their treatment, resulting in over 600 publications in medical journals. He has also received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field, including being named a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Broderick completed his medical training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine before pursuing a residency in neurology at the University of Michigan. He then completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular disease at the University of Western Ontario and a research fellowship at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He has held numerous positions at the University of Cincinnati, including the first chair of neurology at the UC College of Medicine and the founding director of the UC Neuroscience Institute.
Beyond his work in the medical field, Dr. Broderick has also volunteered his time to serve on several national committees and organizations focused on stroke care, including the American Heart Association and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He is also a sought-after lecturer and presenter at medical conferences around the world.
