Verbhouse, Inc., a woman-founded and owned company, is launching an innovative rent-to-own  (lease with an option to “buy” or “sell”) platform in high-cost housing markets where homeownership rates are among the lowest in the nation.

Verbhouse gets low- and middle-income households into a single-family home, condominium, or townhome of their choice, now with the option to buy or sell later. The option fee, equal to 5% -10% of the property value, locks in an affordable lease payment and the future home purchase price at today’s fair market value for five years, a distinguishing quality of Verbhouse’s solution.

Tenants build equity through a portion of their monthly lease payment that applies dollar-for-dollar to their future purchase price when they are ready to exercise their option to purchase or cash out their equity if they decide to sell. And, importantly, unlike any other rent-to-own program in the U.S. or abroad, tenants capture 100% of any real estate appreciation to generate wealth.  

Verbhouse creates public-private partnerships with universities, healthcare systems, and local, state, and national governments with pressing needs to offer homeownership solutions to employees and constituents.
