Worked as a member of the Washington Service Corps, a division of Americorps, and as a staff member for the Board of Directors of the Environmental Education Association of Washington (EEAW), a non-profit leader in providing resources to traditional and non-traditional environmental educators. Was a member of two conference planning committees, helping design and run successful state-wide environmental education conferences. The EEAW Annual Conference; Healthy Planet, Healthy Children: Educating and Empowering was the largest attended conference for EEAW to date at that time. The Columbia Basin Initiative conference was a participant-led forum that brought professionals from various backgrounds together based on watershed, not government boundaries, with the goal of developing further protection plans and education for the Columbia River Watershed.  Provided professional development opportunities for educators in Washington State.  Provided technical writing and editing assistance for government policy documents.  Increased membership for EEAW considerably in one year. Worked with and learned from a Board of Directors with a diverse background in education and the environment.
