He is now the Vice President of Strategy and Development at New Visions for Public Schools, where he was previously the Director of Strategy and Deputy Director for School Strategy.

Pestronk has also worked for the United States Department of Education as Director of Special Initiatives and Special Assistant, and as a consultant for Massachusetts Public School Performance. Additionally, he has experience as a Principal and Senior Associate of The Parthenon Group.
