Sandra Chilson is an accomplished and enthusiastic educator and astrophysics professional. She has been involved in a wide range of organizations that demonstrate her passion for teaching, outreach, sustainability, and community service. Sandra possesses a Bachelor's degree in Astrophysics from Franklin & Marshall College, where she also worked as a laboratory teaching assistant and tutor. She also completed her Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors from Eastchester High School.

Sandra's experience as a teacher spans across different educational institutions. She worked as a teacher at Barrie School and SchoolHouse, where she honed her skills in managing classrooms, creating lesson plans, and delivering educational content. Her passion for outreach and community service inspired her to co-found and serve as the Treasurer and Director of Marketing and Outreach for Survivors to Superheroes. She was also a counselor and substitute teacher at Westchester County Summer Music Camp.

Apart from education, Sandra's interests also extend to sustainability and optics. She served as the Weis House Green Liaison at the Center for the Sustainable Environment and also completed an internship at New York Cares. Her experience as an Optics Lab TA at Franklin & Marshall College demonstrates her expertise in optics and how it applies to astrophysics.
