Melinda James is a talented filmmaker and storyteller with an extensive background in creating short films, branded content, event videos, and music videos. With over nine years of experience working with both large corporations and individual clients, Melinda is a skilled director, cinematographer, and editor who is passionate about empowering women through media.

Melinda is highly proficient in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve, as well as a range of cinema cameras and DSLRs. She is also currently deep diving into the world of livestreaming, using Facebook Live, Wirecast, and Livestream Studio. Melinda studied at the University of California and holds both a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Outside of filmmaking, Melinda enjoys working in the darkroom, hunting for vintage cameras, and writing screenplays. She is a member of the Freelance Cinematographer organization and is devoted to the craft of visual storytelling, constantly experimenting with the idea of "less is more."
