Basil Al Essa

Basil Al Essa is a highly experienced professional with over 15 years in general management, strategy, and operations in multinational settings.

He currently serves as the President of Shawarmer, a prominent quick-service restaurant chain with a presence in 24 cities and over 130 locations.

Before Shawarmer, Basil held key roles including Senior Director of Strategy & Business Development at Emaar Properties and led strategic initiatives at PepsiCo AMESA region.

His diverse background also includes consulting experience at Bain & Company, where he advised GCC corporations on strategic matters.

Basil started his career as an engineer at Saudi Aramco and holds a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University and a Master's in management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Throughout his career, Basil has demonstrated expertise in sales strategy, organization effectiveness, and post-merger integration in sectors like food & beverage and FMCG.

He has been part of various organizations including Abdullah Al-Othaim Markets, OQAL Angel Investors Network, and has served in different capacities at Bain & Company, PepsiCo, and Emaar Properties.
