Bart Schuurman

Bart Schuurman comes from a family lineage of doctors with both his grandfather and father being general practitioners in Amsterdam.

After completing his medical degree in 1992, he started his career at Medisch Centrum Alkmaar focusing on Pulmonology and later pursued a PhD at Vu University Medical Center on tumor immunology, specifically the defense against liver metastases of colorectal cancer, graduating in 1996.

Throughout his career, Bart has worked in various medical specialties including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Pulmonology, and spent time as a youth doctor at the GGD before undertaking and completing his general practitioner training in 2007, a role he continues with great enthusiasm to this day.

He has further honed his skills by specializing in echocardiography and is a certified practitioner since 2020. Bart also enjoys conducting minor surgical procedures, interpreting ECGs and pulmonary function tests, and assisting patients with psychological and psychosocial issues. He maintains a busy schedule, serving patients from Monday to Friday.
