Barbara Shinaver is a professional musician and music educator with a diverse background and extensive training in trombone performance, pedagogy, wind band conducting, and wind literature.
She has studied under notable mentors including Rob Tapper, Joel Elias, Wayne Solomon, Dr. Jon Brummel, and Steve Trapani, and participated in master classes with renowned musicians such as Tom Ashworth, Tim Higgins, and Gene Pokorny.
Barbara has an impressive academic journey, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from California State University, Fresno, a Master's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Montana, and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music Teacher Education.
Her professional experience includes serving as the Visual Caption Head for Sanger High School Marching Band and Bullard High School Marching Band, as well as being a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Band at the University of Montana.
Barbara Shinaver's musical talents have been recognized through various achievements, such as being the MusicFest Northwest Young Artist Brass Division Winner in 2014 and being featured as a soloist with the Spokane Symphony.
Throughout her career, she has held key roles in different educational institutions and organizations, including Director of Jazz Bands at Buchanan Educational Center and positions at Bullard High School, Fresno Unified School District, and various symphony orchestras.
