Founder/CEO, BAMBAPUANG FOUNDATION, Small NGO Providing Free Sustainable Training of IT, Internet, Digital Literacy, Printing, Entrepreneurship & Free Internet Acc. for Underprivileged Youth, GLOBAL GOODWILL AMBASSADOR
Bambang H. Djamma, an Indonesian social entrepreneur, has been actively and sustainably bridging the technological gap for vulnerable, marginalized, and undeserved youth through his NGO BAMBAPUANG EDUCATION AND INFORMATION since its establishment in 1999. Djamma obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Information and Technology and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Universitas 45 Makassar. Djamma understands the pitfalls of underdeveloped populations. Governments in developing countries lack the resources to equip youth with the knowledge and skillsets to mitigate unemployment, poverty, underdevelopment, and violence, leading to societal decay. Djamma is aware that bridging the technological gap is essential for all communities, especially those with scarce resources. Therefore, he established the NGO to help vulnerable and marginalized youth develop their potential, creativity, initiative, and social responsibility. The centre provides training in IT, literacy, Social Media, entrepreneurship, home industry, local skills, and similar life skills, improving their quality of life by giving them access to job or business opportunities. Additionally, the NGO supports the underserved youth with writing tools and textbooks, donated for free with gender equality. Djamma's Media Training Centre is also actively involved in enhancing the skills of the underserved, including minorities, marginalized, disabled, and indigenous people.
