Balaji (Bala) Srinivasan

Balaji (Bala) Srinivasan is the President of Cumberland Labs, a blockchain incubator associated with DRW. He has a distinguished background in academia and finance, having previously served as the Deputy Provost and Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation, and Strategy at the University of Chicago. In that role, he was instrumental in coordinating initiatives in science, engineering, and technology, and worked on expanding programs for non-traditional students and entrepreneurship at the university.1

Before his tenure at the University of Chicago, Srinivasan held significant positions in the finance sector, including Managing Director at Och-Ziff Capital Management and Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. He has a strong academic foundation with a B.S. in mathematics from Caltech and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago.13
